It’s looking as if PSA could end up with Proton and Opel while Geely gets an opportunity to take Lotus under its wings. Seeing what a great turn around Volvo is making under Geely, what would you like to see Lotus grow into? Maybe Europpos can weigh in on what PSA gaining Opel and Proton could mean for them.

Really exciting times!

I think it be great. The sales from Volvo, could help fund the R&D for Lotus.

PSA buying Proton is a better move than Opel. Also it seems like no one want Lotus, but Lotus has been doing surprisingly well the past 2 years. Geely is the company most likely to make a profit with Lotus since they had sucess with Volvo a small niche brand. Does this mean the next Elise could be twin charged? Will Volvo source Lotus manual transmissions? I am guessing yes on the first case and no on the second.

Volvo and Lotus couldn’t be more different, but that’s why it makes sense to have both in your stable.

my 2c worth is as follows.

Lotus goes to Geely and thrives.

Proton goes to PSA then name will disappear, but factory will be used as a base in Asia for Opel/PSA (that’s what i’d do). new range of Pugs/Opels will be built shared platform (obviously) and using Opel petrol motors or Pug diesels.

All I can think of is a Seven with a B20.
